The thing about taking a nap at 10pm is that I stay awake throughout the night which leads to having really deeeeeep thoughts and yes, thinking a lot.

And then sometimes one thought leads to another and eventually there could be some selfish desires which might not be something all that bad.

There's so much I can wish and ask for, there's so much I can understand to an extent of, but really. Doesn't everyone wants a bit of sacrificial attention from somebody else once in a while?
Like being accompanied, time spent just to have a meal, heart to heart talks, fooling around without a care in the world, spending time to do things together, or even just a phone call to catch up with each other's lives.

Taking some time off work to blog, and perhaps a bit of a break too. I've come to realize that I'm really unproductive at night and that sucks. sighhhhhhhh.

And then if so, there's really no reason why I should stay up all night everyday. But then again, regardless of how unproductive I may be, I usually end up doing a bit more than what I'd have before. soooo,
a bit of work done > work not done.
unproductive > sleep.

Damn I should not have napped when I got home.

Happy New Year y'all.

A year has passed by so quickly I didn't realize until Sera mentioned that I'm turning 19 this year.

Yes, I'm now closer to 19 than I was to 18.
Scary how time flashes by in a blink of an eye huh.

I've experienced a lot in 2011, all the ups and downs. Realized how much school assignments can suck the life out of me. Physically and mentally, my personal and social life.
But more than that, I found myself changing. From an optimistic someone to a person that lets negativity seeps in half the time.
Or maybe to a someone that developed a more realistic view on life.
Nah, I choose not. I'll never let pessimism be a reality.

That's why this 2012, I'm going to work hard. I'm going to put in effort in everything I do.
I've learnt a lot in 2011, the most important being how not to give up because I know I'm not alone. :)

There's so many things that I hope to accomplish this new year, but I'll take it one step at a time.
I hope to foster stronger relationships with the people around me because life's is not all about me. I learnt to be less selfish and though I always tell myself that I'll put others first as compared to myself, action speaks louder than words.

I've turned into an awful person during the last year but I want to change into someone better this year.
Be thankful for every good thing that happened to be and not take things for granted. Accept my responsibilities and not procrastinate. Sounds hard to not procrastinate and its only the second day of the new year, but I'll try.

I don't want to have any regrets this year, I want to feel a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment when 2012 comes to an end.

Great day out with the girls today. :)

Watched Ghost Protocol together with the girls and Ziyi and Barry.

It's been such a long time since the 4 of us were together. The last time was I think during WY's farewell chalet?

It has been that long. haha.

So anyway Wy and I went over to Phi's place after the show and stayed there till 12 plus and daddy came to pick me up. hehehehehehhee I love my dad.

I've a power packed week ahead of me, starting with today, and then tmr, when I'll be meeting 4D1 at park mall for a meal! I hope it'll be a success though, seems like the response ain't so good.
but oh well, tmr will worry for itself. :)
Sera's also going for her class chalet from tmr till thursday so I'll probably come home to an empty room until then. Not to mention, boyfriend's having his vacation at Malaysia with his family and friends now and will only be back on wednesday. I guess it'll be a lonely night tmr with both of them gone.

oh well.

On a side note, I still need money to survive this and next week. Plus, I just found out that my pimple cream has expired and that means I'll need to get new ones. I hate it when I get pimple outbreaks like that. I think my period's nearing. :O

I love my best friend to bits.
Its really nice to know he loves me too. Like when he cuddle up to my stomach when I sit down beside him, or when he leans on me while I pat him, and also when he stand on my lap and staying there until I snuggle up to him.
I guess dogs show love the same way we humans do.

I wish mommy allows him to freely move about at home though, I wonder if there's any way to toilet train a 7 year old dog. I really want to give him a better life and I regret not doing so for the past years,
now that he's sick with heart complications, the vet said that he might go anytime if he choked on the liquid that is found in the heart.
I'm afraid.

But during service today, Pastor wanted us to believe God for a miracle and we were told to write that miracle down on our offering envelope.
I gave a sacrificial amount and prayed for a single miracle for Joy.
Because that's just how much he meant to me.
I don't want him to go.

Taking a break from everything

Rest. Finally.

I realized I blogged a lot during the last block.
Could it be the stress? I guess I need to rant to make myself feel better and maybe my lifeline against insanity when it swallowed me whole during the last 3 weeks.

a few hours of sleep in a week (or more) is no joke. My brain barely rested while constantly thinking about school work. And I'm being serious when I said constantly.
It means even when I'm showering, travelling.. heck, and the only things I talked about was school work. Even to friends who ain't even interested in design.

so I lost my social life then but I'm just glad everything about last block is over now.

on a much brighter note, I met the girls for lunch just this week and caught up with each other's lives. Kim was sick so she rested at home instead.
Then I met the B's later at night for dinner and it felt really good just spending the time with the closest friends I have in the whole wide world. Pity Estee couldn't make it though, seems like she's still really busy with school. But we talked at night and I honestly can't wait for the weekends when we'll be celebrating Wy's birthday at her place. :)

Oh, and I gave Josh a really successful extended birthday cake surprise yesterday and he downed the entire cake/mousse in an instant. HAHA

Sidetracking, I've been giving a lot of thoughts into my future for a while and honestly speaking, I do not see myself in the graphic design industry. I know I'm nowhere there, or even near being the better students in design school. I always felt that I have the creativity, but was I wrong? Perhaps. But even if I really do have it, what's the point when I can't express/execute it well?

I haven't been feeling this inadequacy for the past one and a half year without a reason. And thing is, I know this reason perfectly. I don't think I'm cut out to be a designer.
It's a bit disappointing because I really want to be a part of this, always hearing how our lecturers go overseas to do a collaboration and meeting world renowned designers which greatly motivates and inspires me.
And then I take a look at what I've been producing so far and sigh.

Well, I picked myself up from this depressing state and thought of an alternative route I could take.
And, after much thinking, I think I'm pretty set in becoming a zookeeper. Even if the prospect isn't exactly good, I think I am quite determined to work my way up, and be the best at what I like to do, what I want to do.
Yes, design and animals seems very different and far from each other,
but yet, both are my interest and passion.

I've always wondered how some people can just write so well, where those few words expresses their everything.
yup and I sorta envy them.

maybe it's the way I was brought up, in a family where both mum and dad are better in their mother tongue than they are fluent in english.

I remember this morning, while Daddy was sending me to school, dad, mum and I had this little talk about languages because we happened to be discussing about Sera and her O level papers.
They both said that if they were to take an english exam now, they would've failed. But if it is a Chinese paper, they were confident that they'd do well. Even I had to agree. Not because my chinese is so horrible that I feel inadequate kind, but more of, I know their standards.

And because of that I've been brought up in a more chinese-speaking family.
Now remind me again why my mandarin is so bad?
Exactly. I don't understand.
Friends? The people I surround myself with?

I don't know.

My appetite hasn't been big lately, even Nescafe doesn't appeal to me. Or rather I don't feel like drinking it. But because of the immense amount of work that has to be done by the morning, and so that I wouldn't fall asleep halfway through doing my work, I opened a can.

The 3/4 full can is now sitting by my table, and the last I tasted it, it wasn't cold anymore.

Yesterday and today has been pretty much productive, but yet the workload doesn't seem to decrease. sigh.

Technically speaking the workload does get lesser everytime I complete one. I guess it's a mental thing then.
I should find time to borrow some books to read soon. I've been wanting to read one since before the start of holidays but my time was packed with lots of other things to do. Well, it's not as if there's time now. But heck, I need to read.

In a couple few more hours, and I'll be flying off for Taiwan.

Alright, make that 18 hours.

It's a 6 days 2-in-1 study trip at Taipei and I'm really excited for it.
(one's for the original purpose where we collab with a design university there while the other reason for being there is for Global Citizenship. yes, CDS.)

Somehow, or rather actually.
I kinda regretted taking up Global Citizenship as a CDS. I mean, it's not really what I'm interested in, and I'm not exactly doing well so far. Yup, and there goes my GPA.
But more importantly, it has been taking up some of my time during my not-so-holidays, which resulted in me cramming and squeezing all my daily agendas together.

Yes, the Heart In Motion campaign, mummy's company ad layout, Taiwan trip's project, the TONS of birthday cards that I gotta do, cell group leader's birthday, girlfriend's birthday and mummy's birthday.

Feeling so remorseful now because I haven't got the time to do anything for mum.
and i'm flying off tmr morning. mummy's birthday on monday. YAY.

On a brighter note, I'm thankful for the support and help that I've got during this crazy period of time.
FY and Deborah for putting in so much effort for the Project, I honestly felt inadequate about the things that I actually did. Or rather, what did i do anyway?

Yoseph, for guiding me through the campaign poster even though he has A LOT more things to do than I have.

And Josh for helping me with whatever he could and staying up with me through those almost sleepless nights. And the surprise breakfasts. :)

Feels like i've been doing assignments based on Lecturer's preferences. And here I am, trying to find my own style and voice.

Nevertheless, on a brighter note, I thank God for the people He placed around me.
Daddy, though busy and stressed up at work, helped me with my initial idea when I couldn't take it and broke down.

Mummy, understands what I'm going through and never complained or nagged at me all these while. She cared and gave me all the support that I needed.

Sera, never stopped reminding me how life is not all about responsibilities through the nonsense we shared every night.

Joy, my best friend, who's there for me when I needed someone to talk to and who's just there to listen. He never judges, he never advised. But he definitely made me feel that he's a friend that I can trust and share my burden with.

Girlfriends, though they have no idea what is happening now, but everytime I got reminded of them, I cheered up because they're just that awesome bunch of people I could have ever had.

Miki, Kim, Joyce, yes we're all going through the same thing but they've never given up. That motivates and encouraged me to know that I'm can make it, and I'm not alone in this.

Fong Yee, though I'm not as close to her, she encouraged me at very unexpected times. Which greatly touched me. And yes, I was definitely encouraged.

Seth, for remembering that I'm going through stressful times and didn't demand any answer from me for some of the questions I forgot to reply to.

And Joshua, for being my greatest pillar of support and encouragement. Never fails to help me though he himself is in the same situation as I am. Never stops caring and being understanding to me even when I'm being such a bitch. Always, always going out of his way for me.
